  • Introduction

Rotating machines are usually used in the economic and industrial field. Their design needs a hard resistance and a high flexibility. Therefore, the machine instability constitutes the major abnormal comportment. The power-gearing device is a seat of undesirable vibratory phenomena related to the excitation sources: revolving, vibratory coupling, periodic asymmetry, damping, defects …etc. These dynamic effects are usually less valued. They will have to be taken into account in the design process. The reduced of vibration level and the associated nuisance are the target of several research works around the world. They were exposed with severity in several technological areas: tools machines, robotics, auto, aeronautics, turbo-machines, eolian, solar tracking (PV, Thermal)...etc. The knowledge and the mastery of mechanical and vibrational properties of these machines are crucial to describe, to understand, to optimize their static and dynamic behaviors and to improve their stability, reliability and service quality offered. The principal aim of this special issue is to provide an attractive forum for investigators who are invited in order to exchange ideas and methods on advanced mechanical design of rotary machines.

    Aims and Scope:

    1. Mechanical Design
    2. Computer-Aided Design
    3. Computational Structural Mechanics
